After the success of her first music album Outrageous, Sherlyn Chopra is all set to hit the music charts with her next album Dard-e-Sherlyn.“This time, it’s a Bollywood remix. I have written and composed the English track in the song. The video is choreographed by Remo,” she informs.
It seems that the video is a tribute to Hema Malini. “Yes, but it was not intentional. I mean, I wanted a few really gripping lines which would speak about my unspoken ‘dard’. The album is in English, but I have used a few lines from Hemaji’s Dard song from the film Dus Numbri . The song was sung by Asha Bhonsle. Keeping Hemaji’s sensuality in mind, I have tried to do something Indian in this music video,” adds Sherlyn.
So is this a tribute? “Not really. It’s a small token of appreciation for the Dreamgirl,” she says. Considering the ‘outrageous’ image shouldn’t she have opted for a sensuous number by actresses like Rekha or Parveen Babi?
“With due respect to Rekhaji and late Parveen Babi, I would like to say that Hemaji’s sensuality has never ceased to fascinate me,” she adds. So, did she show the video to Hema? “Not yet,” she smiles. But wouldn't Hema be upset with her, considering the fact that the video is hot. “Wearing a diamond studded bikini top has zero connection with the goodness of one’s character,” she says.
