'Keira Knigtley's sëx scenes don't bother me'

Keira Knigtley's mother, Sharman MacDonald has revealed that she has absolutely no problems with her daughter doing love scenes.

Sharman, who is a celebrated playwright and screenwriter, worked with her daughter for the first time on the World War II romantic drama The Edge of Love, which features a few steamy scenes.

The film brims with sexual tension as Keira plays Vera Phillips who competes with her friend Caitlin Thomas for the affections of the famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. In one scene, the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star writhes naked when she sleeps with heroic soldier William Killick.

And according to Sharman, she doesn’t feel weird watching her daughter in erotic scenes, as she is playing a character and doing her job.

“She is playing a character so it doesn't feel weird watching her in The Edge of Love. It's never been like watching my daughter in any of her pieces because she inhabits the character," The Sun quoted Sharman, as saying.

"I don't watch her shooting the sex scenes. And I didn't add to any of the sex scenes when she decided to play the character of Vera. Watching her, she is a character. “So it doesn't bother me. The scenes have to be well shot," she added.
