Preity's sound of fury

Early this week, Preity Zinta threw a fit and walked out of a dubbing studio where she was dubbing for Har Pal.

The dubbing was at Dev Anand’s Navketan Studios at Pali Hill. Our well-placed source from the industry says, “Preity was terribly upset because an unsavoury remark from the producer, Soni Juneja offended her. It took quite an effort to pacify her before she resumed dubbing.”

Another source says, “Zinta got miffed because the sound-recordist, Rakesh Ranjan, left assistant recordist Pradeep Suri to oversee the dubbing. However, Preity refused to dub in Ranjan’s absence.”

When contacted, Juneja did not deny the incident. He said, “Rakesh was unwell when Preity arrived at the dubbing studio. I explained to her that she should go ahead with Suri, but she was uncomfortable with the idea of dubbing without Rakesh. She then left the studio and did not dub that day.” Our source informs us that Suri felt insulted at this. Juneja explains that Har Pal has emotions in most scenes and a slight change in dubbing can affect the quality of the film.

“But everything is okay now. Later, I called up Ranjan and he arrived on the sets the next day. After that, Preity has been dubbing with us regularly,” Juneja adds.
We called up Ranjan, who said, “Who told you all this? Suri is not my assistant. He is an independent sound-recordist.” We asked Preity what had actually upset her. In her message, the actress did not deny the incident but said, “Please don’t call me for silly stories... I really don’t know what quote to give you.”
