Sarah Jessica Parker was not the only one who walked the red carpet in the silver Nina Ricci gown she wore for the "Sex and the City" premiere, for socialite Lauren Santo Domingo beat her to it.
Weeks before Sarah showed up clad in the dress crafted by Ricci designer Olivier Theyskens, lauren had already shown it off while attending the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Insitute Gala, reports the New York Daily News.
The dress drama echoes Reese Witherspoon’s mini-controversy with Chanel in 2006. The actress had worn a gown that Chanel told her was vintage and never been worn before.
As it turned out, both fact were wrong. Not only was the gown not vintage (it came from a 2002 collection), it had already been worn by Kirsten Dunst to a party three years earlier. Chanel was forced to apologize for the "oversight."
In Sarah’s case however, there has been no news about whether Nina Ricci has made a similar apology since the publicist has not responded as yet.
