Katrina received an upset from Bipasha

Just when success was finally sinking in and Katrina Kaif was getting all set to go slow and relish the fruits of her hard work, she received an upset from Bipasha Basu. The bong babe seems to have beaten Katrina in her favorite game the ‘money’ game.

Ever since B-town went abuzz with rumors of Katrina bagging a whooping amount of Rs 1 crore for a live stage performance, all eyes have been on Bipasha, who is touted as Kat’s closest competitor.

And looks like Bipasha has just raced past Katrina in the moolah game as the actress has reportedly walked away with a jaw dropping amount of Rs 1.5 crore for a live stage performance on new year’s eve.

While Katrina will be grooving at the JW Marriot, Bipasha will be busy bringing the house down for Sahara Group.

Bipasha Basu has not been able to celebrate Durga Puja

Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu is depressed because she couldn't head back home to Kolkata to celebrate Durga Puja with her family and, to top it, beau John Abraham is also not in town.

The last time Bipasha attended the puja it was five years ago.

She has not been able to join her family for the celebration, thanks to her hectic work schedule.

'Every year it has become the same. For the last five years, I've been trying my level-best to make it home to Kolkata. But it never works out. This year I'm busier than ever.

Bipasha describes her relationship with god as conversational.

'My everyday interaction with god is one-to-one. I don't know any religious mantras though I love to hear my mom when she chants the shlokas and mantras during any puja in my house.'

Bipasha the sêxiest, said Ranbir

Ranbir Kapoor does it again.

Even as lady love Deepika Padukone looked on, the Kapoor kid publicly announced on a show on Zoom TV Bachna Ae Haseeno Special that he found the dusky Bipasha Basu the sêxist of the lot.

With rumours abuzz of how Deepika was completely trumped at a reality show when Ranbir decided to walk in with Bips, this definitely has distorted the otherwise rosy picture the couple makes.

The masala on the show is there for all to see. Even as Bips and Minissha Lamba keep pulling Ranbir’s leg, the distraught Deepika seeks comfort from beau Ranbir. In a charming gesture he introduces his lady love as ‘the beautiful Deepika Padukone,’ only to have Bipasha snap at him that he should have complimented Minissha too similarly! A defensive Deepika protests, “He did call you hot and sêxy!”

Seems the lovers were about to have a tiff yet again when Ranbir decides to set the record straight by saying, “Ok, hot, beautiful and sêxy Deepika Padukone”, much to the lady's delight.

Apart from general ribbing, the stars also end up sharing some real interesting anecdotes. Deepika talks about the incident when she was scratched and covered by pigeon poop while shooting for a song sequence. Ranbir talks of how he overcame hydrophobia by jumping into a swimming pool.

Minissha shot for a song in chilling cold where all she had to help her was a hot plastic water bottle. Bipasha shared her fear when she needed a root canal done and was so petrified that she forced her dentists to be on a conference call throughout the process!

Bipasha Basu may not have had a release since “Race” early current year, however the dusky actress does have a string of interesting movies lined up in the next few months. While she is already sizzling on screen with dashing handsome hunk Ranbir Kapoor in the promos of Yash Raj Films’s “Bachana Ae Haseeno”, she will be seen in White Feather Art House Film’s latest flick “Pankh” as well later in the year.

Bipasha plays Manisha, a simple house wife whose idealogies clash with that of her poet hubby which leads to frustration and tension in their relationship.

Bipasha Basu : She is too hot

Bipasha is currently shooting in Bangkok’s scorching heat for Freeze.

She can’t help but joke at the irony of it all. Bips says, “I suggested the film should be titled Melt instead.” Bips has been constantly shooting in contrasting climates for the past three months. She adds, “I was first shooting in the freezing cold in Italy for Siddharth Anand’s Bachna Ae Haseenon after which I joined John and the unit of Dostana in Miami for three days. The weather there was extremely sunny but I had a blast. What do you expect with two pranksters like Abhishek and John around?” She’s more to say, “I don’t know how I’ve survived so many climate changes in the last three months.”

Does it have to do with her co-stars – the handsome Ranbir Kapoor and Neil Mukesh? Says Bips, “Yeah maybe. I’ve been very lucky with my co-stars. In the last two months, I’ve worked with Ranbir and Neil. Ranbir is super-cute and we got along like a house on fire. As for Neil, we’re both Capricorns, and like me, Neil is extremely organised.” Bips tells us that Neil’s gentlemanly streak is a common Capricorn trait. Commenting on Bachna Ae Haseenon being Ranbir’s film, Bips says, “I’m one of the protagonists in the film. Otherwise I wouldn’t do it. My days of doing decorative roles are over. There would be no story without my character in the film.”

Bipasha Basu’s sizzling act in Race undoubtedly set every man’s puls racing. However, in her first Bengali film Sab Choritra Kalponik being directed by Rituparno Ghosh, the sexy actress has done an absolute U-turn.
A far cry from her glam avatar, she’s donned simple saris for this one, and the actress manages to look as convincing as the docile wife, as she did as the big screen temptress. Ask her about her versatility and she says, “The secret lies in not taking any of your onscreen images seriously. I am an actress and ready to be moulded into any character.
I do work on each look and never agree to any look, if I’m not convinced about it. Indian or western, both looks can be sexy, and both can be de-glam. I can carry both with as much ease only because I have no pre-conceived image about myself and am open to experiment.” Well, Bips your experiments sure seem to be having the perfect results each time. Bipasha Basu's good hair day

Bipasha Basu seems to be on a reinvention spree. Ask her how she has been and she complains of a pain in her neck. “But that’s because I have just started doing yoga,” says the girl whom boyfriend John recently described as the most fit actress in Bollywood.

But what has really got the actress happy is her new look. “I have always wanted short hair but my Mom was dead against it. So now that I am a grown-up girl, I got this cut and I am so in love with it. Even the people at the gym like it. They say I look like a schoolgirl,” she smiles. And what about John? “Oh, he compliments me everyday. Six years into a relationship and your boyfriend still compliments you... I am sure the cut is really nice,” she says.

Bipasha is working hard in Bollywood, and making a foray in avant garde cinema too – dressed demurely in sarees at that! She says with a smile about Sudipto’s Pankh, “People are going to like Pankh a lot. It is a very depressing movie... I recently watched it. But honestly, I think it is worth a watch.”

Her career has Bipasha really excited. “I think this is the best time to be an actress. I am unconventional, I am dark skinned, I am independent and I can happily talk about my relationship without worrying that any of this will affect my career. I think unconventional has actually started working in Bollywood,” she laughs. And what about her foray in Hollywood? “Not yet. There is a writer’s strike going on there. When it is over, let’s see what comes my way!”
