Shilpa and Katrina to perform at the closing ceremony of IPL

Undeterred by her team, Rajasthan Royals, not being able retain their championship status, Shilpa Shetty revealed her true sportsman spirit as she joins American Rand B sensation Akon singing Smack That at the closing ceremony of IPL at the Wanderer in Johannesburg Sunday night.

Joining at event will also be the beautiful and the gorgeous Katirna Kaif dancing on Oscar winner AR Rahman’s Jai Ho with Indian and South African dance troupes led by Shamiak Davar.

The huge crowd will also be introduced to the Miss Bollywood IPL South Africa finalists, culminating with the crowning of the winner of the beauty competition, who will get a guided tour through Bollywood as one of her prizes.

Aishwarya sizzles on Cannes Film Festival

Her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002 was nothing short of a fashion disaster. Seven years later, Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai`s walk of poise and elan at the ongoing French festival has left the Indian fashion fraternity raving.

Her choice of an elegant white off-shoulder Roberto Cavalli train gown teamed with a neatly tied bun and simple pearl drop earrings besides a Swarovski box clutch and red peep-toes was a sureshot hit. And a complete throw away from the jarring green sari she wore to the event in 2002, say designers.

According to designer Raakesh Agarvwal, also known for creating elaborate gowns, it was Aishwarya`s stylist who was to be blamed for her fashion faux pas and not her.

For designer Abdul Halder, Aishwarya, whose dress would have cost nothing less than Rs5 million as per industry estimates, looked as though she was wearing a "wedding gown minus the veil".

Though the beauty queen-turned-actress exhibited marked improvement in her dressing sense with differently styled gowns at the event every subsequent year post-2002, she scored a perfect 10 with her attire this year.

This year she was at the Cannes as an activist for social and humanitarian causes by lending her name to the International Tribunes Cinema Verite. The Bollywood diva addressed a press conference along with Queen Noor of Jordan Thursday to announce the third edition of the event that will take place later this year in Geneva (Oct 6 to 8) and Paris (Oct 9-10).

Cinema Verite is a special event dedicated to films and social actions that promote human rights and the eight Millennium Development Goals adopted by the UN.

Freida Pinto upset with internet

Actress Frieda Pinto isn’t a happy lady at the moment. The gorgeous diva is upset with the bold pictures of her been circulated all over the internet, which she had shot for a calendar in 2006. Freida Pinto becomes new face of L’Oreal products

Freida Pinto is the latest to join the list of celebrities to endorse products by cosmetic giant L’Oreal.

While there have been persistent Internet rumours that the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ star would be the face of Estee Lauder, Pinto has said that she is excited to be the face of L’Oreal.

“I am very moved to be joining the great L’Oreal Paris family and all these personalities: a family I am now proud to be a part of,” People quoted Freida as saying in a statement.

Ranbir would be seen paired opposite Priyanka

Ranbir has been roped in for a flick by Siddharth Anand, wherein he would be seen paired opposite Priyanka.

Grapevine has it that it was none other than his ‘supposed’ present flame Katrina Kaif who was previously signed on for the film. But she has now been replaced by Priyanka Chopra as Ranbir’s leading lady in the project.

Shocked Jaya Prada Jayaprada accuses Azam Khan

Accusing SP leader Azam Khan of circulating material to sully her image, party candidate from Rampur Jaya Prada today said she would complain to the Election Commission about it.

Freida Pinto name in world's most beautiful woman list

Freida Pinto is now being feted as a modern 'Helen of Troy' by Vanity fair magazine which is conducting a poll to find the world's most beautiful woman.

The magazine has given out a list of 19 names, out of which one will be adjudged the world's most beautiful woman.

"Of the billions of women on this planet, only 19, we believe, could start wars. These modern-day Helens of Troy come from both hemispheres and include legends and ingenues," said the magazine about it's chosen list.

The list is a eclectic mix of personalities. From Hollywood, actresses like Halle Berry, Cate Blanchett, Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow, made to the list.

Interestingly two of Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriends also feature on the list, Gisele Bundchen and current love interest Bar Rafaeli.
