Is Lindsay going the Heath way?

Lindsay Lohan is taking the same drugs Heath Ledger was using when he died.

Michael Lohan, Lindsay’s father, claims the 21-year-old beauty has been prescribed many of the same drugs tragic star Heath was taking when he died of an accidental drugs overdose in his New York apartment last month.

He said, “Even before Heath’s death, I told Lindsay that I’m very concerned about the pills she’s taking. Doctors had Lindsay on various medicines to treat ailments including Attention Deficit Disorder, depression, insomnia and also her broken wrist.”

He added, “I’m not only fearful for Lindsay, but for all the other kids out there. Most of these young people shouldn’t be on some of these medications — instead, they should get spiritual guidance, counselling and exercise. These new drugs get into their bones and bloodstreams and they have to detox to get off them or they can have seizures or possibly die.”

Aryana’s my life: Mahima Chaudhary

Remembered for her role as a village belle in the movie Pardes, Mahima Chaudhary has come a long way.
From her media-centric relationship with Leander Paes, to her low-profile wedding in L.A, she has had her share of lows and highs. Though this time around she is playing it safe and we must say she is back with a glow!

Dressed smartly in a chic top and cropped trousers, Mahima looks anything but a mom! Talking about how magnificent she looks, she said promptly, "It is all courtesy motherhood. Honestly my baby, Aryana, is my life!" She believes in not having a nanny, and said, "I would like to be part of Aryana's every waking hour." Now isn't that cute!
Moving to movies, Mahima's next venture is titled Hope and a Little Sugar with Vikram Chatwal and Anupam Kher. The movie talks about the way Asians were treated post 9/11. Getting onto an equally relevant subject, we ask her if the film industry has changed in anyway in terms of the casting couch and she said, "If you are talented, you don't need a shortcut to the top. I think the casting couch exists in every industry and not just films."
Shifting the focus back to movies, she said, "I would love to do brilliant stories and not rubbish." Are Tollywood producers listening?

Ayesha is an alien!

It’s time to move over from Jadoo of Koi Mil Gaya to the petite Ayesha Takia, who is set to play an alien with special powers in Jaaane Kahaah Se Ayie Hai. The film will also be Milap Zaveri’s (writer of Heyy Baby, Masti and Kante) debut film as a director.
The cast includes Ritesh Deshmukh and Ruslaan Mumtaz and will be produced by Nikhil Advani and Mukesh Talreja. When contacted, Milap Zaveri confirms, “I wanted to make a love story but with a different subject. In the film, Ayesha Takia is the girl from Venus. The concept of the story is that of an alien searching for love from an earthling.

There will be a lot of humour and emotions that the young generation will be able to relate to.” Speaking about Ayesha’s looks, Zaveri says, “She will definitely have a futuristic and funky look. Coming from Venus, she has special powers and we intend to add some special effects as well.” The film will hit the floors in May. Ayesha must be in another ‘space’ altogether with this announcement!

Divya Dutta:Shine and glow

For all you mean minds who still think Divya Dutta is the same old girl they have seen on the screen, go take a walk. We recently got a peek at her and we must say her makeover has been truly astonishing.

She has lost oodles of weight and her new avatar is making quite a few heads swivel around in B -Town. But the one to suffer from Divya’s weight loss phenomena is Ajay Devgan who is making his directorial debut with U Me Aur Hum.

Ajay was overheard complaining that he’s having a tough time editing Divya’s scene. Reason? When they started shooting, Divya was her usual self and when they ended, she had shrunk to half. But Diyva isn’t complaining. A slim and trim, Ms Dutta is always better than the old humpty dumpty, no?

‘I am not scared of Khali’: Tanushree Dutta

After displaying her oomph factor in films like Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Chocolate, Tanushree Dutta is ready for some mind-boggling action in her forthcoming film Rama The Saviour. She’ll be cast opposite the 7 feet 3 inch tall wrestler, 'the Great Indian Khali'. In a tete-a-tete with NT, she bares her soul...

IN AWE OF KHALI: "Khali is a real terror and very intimidating. Though I am not at all scared of him and wish to know more about his lifestyle, I am not going to ask him many questions. I am ready to put my best foot forward in the fight scenes and I have been especially trained by a famous action director from Vietnam for the movie."

TRICKS OF THE TRADE: "With nary a godfather to support me, survival can be tough in this industry. Today, I know the tricks of the trade and deal with people accordingly. I know ki agar yahaan haath do toh log pauncha pakad lete hain. So, I keep them at a distance and if people call me a snob, I just don't care. It isn't that I don't care for people, but I can't be polite just to please people."

ON BODY BEAUTIFUL: "I strongly feel that being called sexy is the best compliment any woman can get. I like it when people say that I have a sensuous body. I work hard to maintain my curves. I eat right, exercise well and take care of my hair and skin."

BOLLYWOOD HOTTIES: "I find the four Khans very sexy. But it's none other than Amitabh Bachchan who is the hottest of them all. Mr Bachchan is beyond comparison. I find him really exciting and he has an amazing sex appeal. And let me tell you, Abhishek is a hunk too."

FAVE OBSESSION: "I have a fetish for buying shoes even though it sounds a little weird for a lady to choose footwear over lipsticks and nail paints. I travel a lot and the moment I spot a shoe shop, I can't resist buying one. The last time I tried counting the number of shoes was about eight months back and the number was 330. Since then, there have been many more additions to my stock and now I have actually lost the count."

Eva Green vows never to do nu de scenes again

French actress Eva Green has vowed never to go in the buff again due to the criticism she faced for her first nude scene in ‘The Dreamers’.

The 27-year-old James Bond star, who starred opposite Daniel Craig in 2006's ‘Casino Royale’, did nude scenes in her first film in 2003, and it caused a number of controversies upon the film’s US release in 2004.

Green says that it was an experience that made her wary of accepting roles that require her to strip off.

"My God, in America it (the nude scenes) was a big deal. The Dreamers was my first feature film and I don't know if I could do it again, but I like to show emotions and if that means being naked and if it's not gratuitous I might do it...” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

"With Bond it was fine, though, because they're not ready to show nipples in Bond films yet," she added.

Sizzling Sherawat!

Indian men may keep their fantasies of Angelina Jolie, Pamela Anderson and Christina Aguilera.
In the West, they consider our Mallika Sherawat among the world’s sexiest women! Yes, it’s true. And the actress who has yet to break into home ground despite films like Murder and Khwaish , is going great guns abroad. She is actually known as Sizzling Sherawat in the West. A title she wears coyly around her shapely shoulders.
Capturing a market that’s long been dominated by blondes and brunettes, it’s exciting to see the Indian diva sweeping men’s fancies across the globe with her sensuality.
A recent poll conducted by an international men’s website has Sherawat named as one of the world’s sexiest women alongside Jolie, Shakira and Aguilera. She has beat the likes of Anna Kournikova and Lindsay Lohan. Interestingly, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Padma Lakshmi also make it to the list.
Super thrilled by this achievement, which places her in the 67th position, Sherawat says, “It feels great not just for myself, but also because Indian women are making their mark in the West just like curry, samosas and chai did earlier! Indian women are like Indian food — very spicy, very sweet and addictive! It’s about time the West got a good taste of us!”
The actress who burst into Hollywood by playing the bit role of an Indian princess opposite Jackie Chan in The Myth, is known more for her raw and brazen sex appeal than her work. Not surprised by the poll results, Sherawat says, “Not being considered would be embarrassing. And since men make up half the population of the world, that’s fine by me.”
Despite showing spark in Murder, the sexy newcomer failed to sizzle in Bollywood. Even her recent film, Welcome, failed to do anything for her at the box office. Has her sex symbol tag overshadowed her abilities as an actress? “I happen to be a movie star and not just an actress. That’s like being a wicket-keeper whose batting sometimes overshadows his work behind the stumps,” Sherawat replies candidly. “But, yes, as far as my sex symbol image goes, there is a sense of deja vu. I do get the feeling I’ve been there and done that.”

Nicole's bathing suit raises charity

A bathing suit once worn by actress Nicole Kidman is being sold, in a bid to raise money to buy cows for the poor in India.
The bathing suit, which the actress left behind at a Swedish pool in 2002, will hopefully raise thousands of rupees. The swimsuit is on display at a second-hand shop in Esloev, Sweden and will be owned by the highest bidder, according to a website.
The swimsuit was first purchased by Zlatko Nedanovski for 840 dollars (Rs 33,000) from a local radio station, however, later he decided to donate the swimsuit to help an organisation which will make use of the proceeds to purchase cows for Indian farmers. “I’ve been in possession of this bathing suit for more than five years and the time has come for me to pay my dues through a charitable project,” said he.

Has Jolie lost her Oscar?

American actress Angelina Jolie has lost the Oscar trophy she won in 1999, according to reports.

Jolie got the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her role in Girl Interrupted. The actress had handed over the Oscar to her mother Marcheline Bertrand after the ceremony.

When Bertrand died in January 2007, Jolie recovered it from the Beverly Hills, California hotel her mother lived in, but it has since then gone missing, according to OK magazine.

“Angie doesn’t care about awards. Sure, it’s a great honour to win an Oscar, but Angie thinks herself as more of a humanitarian and mother than an actor,” a source told the publication.

Bipasha Basu's good hair day

Bipasha Basu seems to be on a reinvention spree. Ask her how she has been and she complains of a pain in her neck. “But that’s because I have just started doing yoga,” says the girl whom boyfriend John recently described as the most fit actress in Bollywood.

But what has really got the actress happy is her new look. “I have always wanted short hair but my Mom was dead against it. So now that I am a grown-up girl, I got this cut and I am so in love with it. Even the people at the gym like it. They say I look like a schoolgirl,” she smiles. And what about John? “Oh, he compliments me everyday. Six years into a relationship and your boyfriend still compliments you... I am sure the cut is really nice,” she says.

Bipasha is working hard in Bollywood, and making a foray in avant garde cinema too – dressed demurely in sarees at that! She says with a smile about Sudipto’s Pankh, “People are going to like Pankh a lot. It is a very depressing movie... I recently watched it. But honestly, I think it is worth a watch.”

Her career has Bipasha really excited. “I think this is the best time to be an actress. I am unconventional, I am dark skinned, I am independent and I can happily talk about my relationship without worrying that any of this will affect my career. I think unconventional has actually started working in Bollywood,” she laughs. And what about her foray in Hollywood? “Not yet. There is a writer’s strike going on there. When it is over, let’s see what comes my way!”

Penelope wants to get older, howzat!

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz is looking forward to getting older, and she won’t entertain discussions over whether her looks pose a career problem.
Cruz, 33, appeared today at the Berlin film festival to promote fellow Spaniard Isabel Coixet’s Elegy, in which Cruz stars as Consuela — a student who embarks on an affair with a much older professor, played by Ben Kingsley, 64.
Asked at a news conference whether she thought about aging herself, Cruz replied: “I’m looking forward to (it)... I want to experience things; I’m looking forward to having backaches and using that in my work.”
Cruz swatted aside a query about whether she felt her looks made it harder for her to be taken seriously, saying she had “plenty of offers for roles that have nothing to do with any of that.”
“I think you also have to be pretty egocentric to think that you have that problem,” added Cruz, who was nominated for a best-actress Oscar for her role in Pedro Almodovar’s Volver last year. “I don’t engage in that debate because I am allergic to it.”

Britney voted one of Playboy's 25 Sexiest Celebrities

Something is looking up for Britney Spears at last - the troubled pop star has been voted one of Playboy magazine's 25 Sexiest Celebrities.

The 'Toxic' singer has joined the likes of Beyonce Knowles, Angelina Jolie, Eva Mendes, Cameron Diaz, Jessica Alba and Scarlett Johannson on the list, named online by readers of the men's publication.

Other stars on the list include Alicia Keys, Rose MCGowan, Denise Richards, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra.

Playboy boss Hugh Hefner's girlfriend Holly Madison has also made it to the list alongside the tycoon's other two current 'girlfriends' Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson.

Meanwhile Spears has finally been released from the psychiatric ward at UCLA Medical Center.

According to reports, the 26-year old singer slipped out quietly with the help of a private security detail and returned home after spending just 7 days in the hospital even though her psychiatrist, Dr. Deborah Nadel, had extended her stay to a 14-day involuntary hold till the next hearing of her case on 14th Feb.

Britney hires Lohan’s bodyguard

Troubled pop star Britney Spears’s parents have reportedly hired Lindsay Lohan’s former bodyguard who has been trained in the Israel Army.

The bodyguard was seen driving the car that picked up Spears from the UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles after she was released from there on Wednesday, say reports. Spears’s parents have taken control of her legal, financial and security affairs.

The unnamed bodyguard had first made headlines when he threatened a photographer who kicked Lohan during a commotion in Halloween last year in an underground parking garage in Los Angeles.

He chased away the photographer and asked other photographers to name the other man. When they could not, he told them to find out who he was and to tell him, “I want to meet him personally.”

Kate can’t stand bad weather any more

British actress Kate Beckinsale fears she has been living in LA too long, because she can no longer handle the cold and damp of her native England.

The Underworld star insists she’s ‘a really bad English person’ because she hates bad weather. Beckinsale was particularly peeved by the recent torrential rain in her adopted Los Angeles.

She says, “I’ve had the training in the wind and snow, but I’ve completely lost my tolerance for bad weather. I’m terrible. I can’t even go home in the winter.”

Alicia reveals she’s a lazy shopper

Alicia Keys gets her friends to do her shopping.

The Fallin singer loves visiting British high street fashion chains, but always asks friends to pick out clothes for her before she arrives.

She says, “All my girlfriends go crazy. I tend to let them do the preliminary shop around and then get them to tell me what to buy.” Although Alicia doesn’t like doing her own clothes shopping, the star added she hates being labelled a diva and insists she is ‘low-maintenance’. She said, “I hate the word. All of a sudden every singer who is successful is a diva. I think it’s so fake. I’m not a diva.”
