Katherine Heigl on 2nd spot of Forbes list of Highest Paid Television Actresses

According to the Forbes, Heigl is among the top contenders for the spot of the highest paid female stars in the television industry.

She faced tough competition from only one person and that is the present Czarina of the television entertainment circuit, former supermodel Tyra Banks. Banks has clinched the number one spot and is followed by Heigl for the highest earning females in television. Banks’ took home an estimated $30 million from her various projects like that of “America’s Top Model” and “The Tyra Banks Show” and behind the camera work as well as numerous onscreen cameos.

Armed with an earning of nearly about $18 million from her various endeavors like “Grey’s Anatomy” as well as several movies like “The Ugly Truth” [which released this year], Heigl has taken up the second spot for the women who are raking in the moolah.

The Forbes top 10 list is rounded off by such other names as Marg Helgenberger ($9.5 million), Eva Longoria Parker ($9 million), Mariska Hargitay ($8.5 million), Julia Louis Dreyfus ($8 million), Maura Tierney ($8 million), Tina Fey ($7 million), Marcia Cross ($6.2 million), Jennifer Love Hewitt ($6 million) and Ellen Pompeo ($6 million), who follow the top two names.

Katherine Heigl going to adopt a baby girl

Katherine Heigl and her singer husband Josh Kelley are said to be ready to adopt a baby girl.

The pair, who had earlier not spoken about starting a family, has now decided to adopt a girl from Korea, the same way Heigl’s sister did.

“Katherine and Josh are adopting a baby,” Us magazine quoted the actress’ rep as telling People magazine.

Meanwhile Heigl, 30, who married Kelly, 29, in December 2007, recently hosted a baby shower for Ellen Pompeo.

Actress Katherine Heigl has hit back at critics who have hailed her as the next Julia Roberts, insisting the comparison is insulting to the Pretty Woman star.

Heigl who’s found Hollywood success in movies like Knocked Up has been well-received and critics have been quick to compare her to Roberts, who also starred in a number of romantic comedies throughout her career.

But 29-year-old Heigl insists she is not out to copy anyone else’s acting style. She says, “I can’t help, but feel that the comparison is a little insulting to Julia Roberts. There’s not another woman who I look at and think, ‘That’s it, that’s whose career I want to have.’ I’m just me and trying to do the best I can.”

Marriage boosted Heigl’s sex life

Katherine Heigl has confessed her sex life has got ‘ten times better’ since getting married. The Knocked Up star — who married musician Josh Kelley in December — says her bedroom gymnastics have improved dramatically since tying the knot.

She reveals, “Our sex life has always been phenomenal, but I think it is ten times better than it was. We understand each other better. It’s just a whole different ball game. You feel sheltered in the moment, whether you’re being wild and crazy and you’re doing your striptease or it’s just more mellow.”

Katherine — who shot to fame playing Dr Isobel Stevens in hit TV show Grey’s Anatomy — also said she feels she has found her soul-mate in Josh. She says, “He came into my life and I realised, ‘Oh my God, you’re someone I can really trust and go to when things are hard’. To have that in a partner is huge.”
