Asin dreams big in Bollywood

With another exciting Bollywood film in her kitty, South Indian actress Asin, who recently made her Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan-starrer Ghajini, says she has received a warm welcome by the industry.

Asin's next Hindi film is Vipul Shah's London Dreams which also stars Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.

"I was approached for London Dreams while I was shooting for Ghajini. I don't know how they found out about me. I have just finished a long schedule of shooting the film abroad and some of it is still left.

"But I feel I have received a very warm welcome to Bollywood. Both my initial projects are with good banners, actors and filmmakers. I feel lucky and blessed," she said.

Ghajini to become the biggest hit of 2009

Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini has smashed all previous records. The film emerged as the biggest opener of all times, grossing a whopping Rs. 20 cr. net in its first two days. The film collected approx. Rs. 1.6 cr. net in paid previews (when it was released on Wednesday 24th Dec), approx. Rs. 8.25 cr. nett on limited screens and shows (on Thursday) and approx. Rs. 10.15 cr. net (on Friday), according to its all-India distributors Studio 18. The collections are simply earth-shattering.

Not just the domestic box office, Amir Khan and Asin starrer Ghajini is a trailblazer in overseas markets as well.

In US, Ghajini has debuted at No. 21 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected $ 13,87,534 (approx. Rs. 6.72 crores) on 82 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 16,921.

All these figures add up to only one fact that Ghajini seems to be all set for a historic run at the box office that might very soon make it the biggest hit of Bollywood this year.

Scarlett Johansson has revealed that she can`t wait to shed her sex symbol image so that she may get meatier roles.

The 24-year-old actress said that she is hoping to achieve more recognition for her talent rather than her looks, as she grows older.

"I look forward to growing in the industry and ageing in the industry," a news website quoted Johansson, as saying.

"I`m at a little bit of a funny age where I get that ``sexiest woman`` thing, and it feels like a label for right now. But maybe when I get older, it won`t be like that," she added.

Bad luck seems to be haunting Hotel heiress Paris Hilton’’s family these days, for now her uncle has allegedly been robbed.
This comes just days after she herself became the victim of a break-in.
Paris was shocked after intruder forced his way through the front door of her property in Sherman Oaks on Friday, while she was partying at a nightclub.
The burglar made off with irreplaceable gems worth about two million dollars.
And, on Monday, Paris uncle Stephen Michael Hilton was allegedly physically attacked by a thief, who broke into his Malibu, California home.
Once again the worth of stolen goods is estimated to be two million dollars, reports Contactmusic.

‘Time To Pretend’ by MGMT came third while Blitzen Trapper’s ‘Furr’ landed the fourth spot.
