Beyonce sets Grammy winnings record by taking six prizes

Beyonce Knowles is the top winner at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards, taking six prizes - top female tally in history.

She shared the song of the year trophy with three writers for Single Ladies and also won best R&B contemporary album for I Am … Sasha Fierce, reports The Mirror.

“This has been such an amazing night for me and I’d love to thank the Grammys,” Beyonce said after winning best female pop vocal for Halo.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift nabbed the top honour, album of the year, for her best-selling Fearless.

Swift, who won a total of four awards, beat Beyonce, the Dave Matthews Band, Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas for the honour.

First time Beyonce will perform in Malaysia on Oct 25, 2009

Beyonce Knowles is scheduled to stage her first concert in Malaysia at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, at 8pm on Oct 25, reports the Star Online.

The ‘Baby boy’ singer was originally slated to perform in Malaysia in 2007, but cancelled her concert following protests from PAS Youth and she headed for Jakarta instead.

The world tour comes with the release of her third studio album, ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’, which features hits like ‘If I Were a Boy’, ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)’, ‘Halo’, ‘Sweet Dreams’ and ‘Broken-Hearted Girl’.

Beyonce, along with Black Eyed Peas and Jacky Cheung, will also perform at F1 ROCKS Singapore with LG on Sept 26.

Megan Fox to replace Beyonce as face of Armani?

Megan Fox is reportedly set to replace Beyonce Knowles in designer Emporio Armani ads.

Beyonce was roped in for the promotion of the label’s perfume Emporio Armani Diamonds two years ago and the singer even appeared in a major publicity drive.

But, according to Fashionologie.com, the fashion houses chiefs have allegedly signed up Fox as her replacement to star in a new fragrance and fashion campaign, reports Contactmusic.

The Transformers actress will take over promotion of the perfume line and a new clothing collection.

Beyonce may face million-dollar lawsuit

The 27-year-old singer Beyonce Knowles had to perform at M2 nightclub as part of the launch of her “I Am . . . Sasha Fierce” North American tour.

The nightclub owner Joey Morrissey had agreed to pay the singer 200,000 dollars for the gig.

“They said they were too busy with the launching of the tour and that they wouldn’t have time to do the kickoff party,” the New York Post quoted Morrissey as saying.

To make up for the cancellation, Morrissey says Beyoncé offered to stop by the club “to hang out for an hour” on Sunday.

Morrissey said that he’s now preparing to file suit against Beyonce, claiming his place has suffered a “loss of reputation” in addition to the sunk cash.

Beyonce's ‘Single Ladies’ named ‘Best Single of 2008’

Beyonce Knowles' empowerment anthem for single women has been named the Best Single of 2008 by Rolling Stone magazine.
The singer's catchy tune Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) has beaten Santogold’s ‘LES Artistes’ to claim the number one spot on the magazine's top 100 hitlist.
‘Time To Pretend’ by MGMT came third while Blitzen Trapper’s ‘Furr’ landed the fourth spot.
Rounding off the top five was Lil Wayne’s ‘Lollipop’.

I love to win an Oscar : Beyonce Knowles

Singer Beyonce Knowles, who married boyfriend, rapper Jay-Z in April this year, wants to delay her plans to have children since she has realised how hard it is to be a mother from her sister Solange.

Contactmusic.com reports that winning an Oscar, getting married and having children were three things she wanted to do before she became 30. But Beyonce, 27, is now not sure about having kids in the next three years.

She said, "I'd still love to win an Oscar (but) the kids, I don’t know. I've been keeping my nephew and he's the smartest little boy, but he's making it hard. It's a lot of work."

Sasha Fierce is the new name of Beyonce Knowles

Singer Beyonce Knowles has renamed herself Sasha Fierce and says her performing alter-ego shows her more outgoing and sensual side. She has titled her new album I Am... Sasha Fierce.

Reports quote her saying: "I have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when I'm on stage. An alter-ego I've created that kind of protects me and who I really am. Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken and more glamorous side that comes out when I'm working and when I'm on the stage."

She has collaborated with pop star Justin Timberlake in the new album.
